Match the equipment to your shed and climate before you buy:
- Tunnel or closed sheds: Use a cooling pad bank on the inlet end and exhaust fans on the far end. Choose 100mm to 150mm 7090 pads for most layer and broiler sheds; go to 200mm 5090 for the hottest, driest regions where you want maximum drop in air temperature.
- Open and curtain sheds: Low-pressure foggers with a timer-controlled duty cycle, plus roof sprinklers to cool the roof sheet, are the practical, low-cost choice.
- Dry north-west India (Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab): Evaporative cooling works very well because the air is dry. Pads and foggers both give a big temperature drop.
- Humid regions: Limit fogging to short cycles to protect litter, and favour pads with strong exhaust airflow.
A few practical points: always run a water filter to stop nozzle and pad clogging, keep pad water circulating to avoid scale, and pulse foggers on a timer rather than running them continuously. Common questions
Should I use cooling pads or foggers for my poultry shed?
It depends on your shed design. Closed or tunnel-ventilated sheds work best with cellulose cooling pads and exhaust fans, which give steady, controlled cooling. Open-sided and curtain sheds are usually cooled with low-pressure foggers, roof sprinklers or misting fans, which cost less and are easier to retrofit. What is the price of evaporative cooling pad per square foot?
Pad cost depends on the flute type (7090 or 5090) and thickness (50mm to 200mm). Thicker, deeper media costs more but cools better. Do you supply a complete pad and fan cooling system?
Yes. Our Complete Pad and Fan Cooling System includes the exhaust fan, pad bank, aluminium or UPVC frame and the water-circulation kit (sump tank, pump, header pipe, gutter and float valve), all sized to your shed face. We also supply each part separately if you are upgrading an existing setup.
What does a fogger kit for a poultry farm include?
Our Complete Low-Pressure Fogger Kit includes the pump, cycle timer, water filter, fogger nozzles and 25 to 300 feet of pipe, available in 120ft, 200ft and 300ft versions. For larger or enclosed sheds we supply engineered high-pressure fogging systems with a 70 to 80 bar pump and fine sub-50-micron nozzles for true evaporative cooling.
